Production Officially Begins on ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’

Production on Ash vs Evil Dead is officially underway, Starz has confirmed.

The network announced that the cast and crew are currently in New Zealand as we speak, preparing to bring fans a new look at the aging Ash as he prepares to take on Deadites once again.

When the series premieres we’ll catch up with Ash (Bruce Campbell), who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

The 10-episode first season of the series will be executive produced by original Evil Dead series creator Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell.

In addition to Campbell, the series cast includes: Lucy Lawless as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks; Jill Marie Jones as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner; Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past.

Don’t miss the Ash vs Evil Dead teaser when it premieres during the Outlander premiere on Saturday, April 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
