Angela Bassett Will Cause Some Trouble in ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

Angela Bassett is heading back to American Horror Story for a third time, show creator Ryan Murphy revealed today.

Ryan has been announcing this season’s cast via Twitter, and confirmed the news to fans with a tweet today saying,” In October, Angela Bassett will be making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga in the ballroom and elsewhere. #ahshotel”. Angela Bassett and Lady Gaga sharing plenty of scenes?! That may be too much fabulosity for us to handle on the screen at once.

Bassett made her AHS debut as voodoo priestess Marie Laveau in American Horror Story: Coven and returned for American Horror Story: Freak Show last season, as the overly well-endowed Desiree Dupree. We don’t know anymore details on her role for this season yet, but since we haven’t seen her as an all out big bad yet, it would be interesting to see her take on the task. Maybe she’ll team up with Sarah Paulson’s bad girl character?

In addition to Angela, returning to the series are AHS vets Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer and newbies Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson.

Angela’s husband, Courtney B. Vance, is also being brought into the Ryan Murphy fold. He’ll star as Johnnie Cochran in Murphy’s new FX drama series American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
