An ‘Indiana Jones’ Sequel Is in the Works

There have been rumblings and rumors of an Indiana Jones reboot for some time and we now have confirmation that the movie is in the pipeline.

Vanity Fair’s Bruce Handy sat down with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy for the June issue’s cover story on Star Wars, when Indiana Jones and the possibility for another film briefly came up. Kennedy’s response should give hardcore Indy fans some hope, but the rest of us probably shouldn’t hold our breath.

Below is what Handy wrote about the deal between Disney and Lucasfilm:

In buying the company, Disney also got rights, for better or worse, to less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and Radioland Murders. A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise. Kennedy confirmed rumors that another Indy movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”

So there you have it folks. Another Indiana Jones film is on the way, but no one knows when or how.

Who would you like to see take on the role in the sequel? Do you think an Indiana Jones sequel is even necessary? Talk to us in the comments below!
