CBS Gives Fans a First Look at ‘Supergirl’

CBS has given fans a first look at their upcoming series Supergirl and it turns out, she’s super adorable.

According to the network, the series will follow Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, who escaped Krypton amid its destruction years ago, hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman, since arriving on Earth. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be. Former Glee actress Melissa Benoist stars as the titular character.

The network’s first extended look at the series may put some fans, who were already sure of the show’s impending cancellation, to rest. The graphics look spectacular, the dialogue is honest and funny and Melissa seems to be getting used to her new Supergirl alter ego quite nicely.

Co-starring in the series are Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw. There were also rumors that former Superman Dean Cain and one-time Supergirl Helen Slater would be joining the cast in mystery roles.

Supergirl premieres this Fall on CBS.
