‘The Vampire Diaries’ Poll: Which Salvatore Brother Should Elena End Up With?

The Vampire Diaries‘ season finale airs tonight and also signals the end of Nina Dobrev’s era on the series.

The star announced that this season would be her last on the hit CW show and fans everywhere were dismayed to hear that their favorite show would undergo such a massive change. Despite her saying that she wanted to go on to pursue other projects, the rumors as to why the actress really decided to part ways with the series still started flying.

Nina was recently quoted saying that contrary to popular belief, she’s not leaving the series because ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder has moved on. “I’ve said this before, that we didn’t break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn’t love or friendship,” she told E! host Maria Menounos. “I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he’s great and I care about him. And that didn’t change. Yes, we’re professional and that’s fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now.”

We previously asked fans whether or not they would continue to watch the series without Nina and a whopping 67% of you said “Nope – I’ll be departing when Nina does!”

Throughout the series, Elena has been romantically involved with both of the Salvatore brothers, Stefan in her human days and Damon in the vamp era. The fates of these characters as they relate to tonight’s season finale are already sealed and we can’t change what will happen, but now is the chance to let your be voice heard and tell the world how Elena’s love story should really end.
