Alfonso Ribeiro Named New Host of ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’

America’s Funniest Home Videos has a new host that should delight fans of both The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Dancing with the Stars alike.

The actor best known as Will Smith’s rich cousin Carlton Banks and Dancing with the Stars‘ season 19 champ, Alfonso Ribeiro, has officially been named the new host of ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos as announced today by Tom Bergeron during the season finale of DWTS.

“After receiving hundreds of inquiries, stacks of video submissions and a very close audition race, one smile, one funny and sincere delivery became our standout favorite – Alfonso Ribeiro,” said Vin Di Bona, executive producer. “We look forward to Alfonso leading AFV into the next generation of family friendly viewership.”

Although the show will have a new host, its mission will remain the same– giving families something genuinely funny to enjoy together on Sunday nights. Alfonso’s first season will welcome an abundant supply of fresh clips to keep families laughing from coast to coast.

America’s Funniest Home Videos is ABC’s longest-running primetime entertainment show and will return for season 26 this fall.
