‘Magic Mike XXL’ Actor Adam Rodriguez Signs On as ‘Empire’ Season Two Guest Star

Empire has added another guest star to its season two roster.

Adam Rodriguez is best known for his role in CSI: Miami, has joined the cast as a potential love interest for one of the current characters…and we bet you can guess who it is.

According to Variety, Rodriguez will play Laz Delgado,”a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills. Laz is a native New Yorker and former EMT who takes an interest in Cookie.” Wait, what was that last part? Looks like Cookie will get some new nookie when the new season returns!

It was also recently announced that new guest stars would include Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys. Common and Oprah were previously rumored to appear, but there’s been no confirmation on the pair yet.

Empire‘s second season is not only returning sooner, but its returning longer as well. It will consist of an extended order of 18 episodes, up 6 from the 12 episode premiere season. As far as how the season will air, it will be split in two parts, with part 1 in the fall, ending with a cliffhanger, and part 2 picking up in the spring.

Empire‘s second season premieres Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c.
