‘Once Upon a Time’ Bumps Rebecca Mader and Sean Maguire Up to Series Regulars

Those of you who hoped to see an end to Once Upon a Time‘s Zelena/Robin Hood/ Regina baby mama drama anytime soon will have to wait. The series has bumped both Rebecca Mader (Zelena) and Sean Maguire (Robin Hood) up to series regulars, which means Regina’s issues, namely Zelena and her baby, won’t be going anywhere.

Last season when we left the trio, Robin and Regina had Zelena locked up in the Storybrooke psyche ward, and told her that they would be the ones to raise her baby, without her, when the time came. Now thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know that the drama is nowhere near over since both Rebecca Mader and Sean Maguire have been granted series regular status.

Mader joined the cast during the second half of season three as the show’s big bad, but was “killed” by Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) by season’s end. Fans thought her storyline was over and done with (although she hinted about her return to us in an interview at last year’s Dragon Con), until she re-appeared in the second half of season four, revealing that she’d killed Marian before she returned to Storybrooke and was impersonating her the entire time as part of her plan for revenge on her sister Regina (how’s that for a Single Witch Female plan), only to end up pregnant near the end of the season.

Maguire joined the cast as Tom Ellis’ replacement. Ellis went on to star in the now cancelled Merlin and will star in the upcoming DC Comics drama Lucifer on FOX.
