Lifetime Releases First ‘Deadly Adoption’ Teaser Featuring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig

Lifetime released a strangely interesting teaser trailer for the Will Ferrell/Kristen Wiig Lifetime movie A Deadly Adoption today.

Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award nominee Ferrell (Everything Must Go, Stranger than Fiction) and Oscar® and Golden Globe nominee Wiig (Skeleton Twins, Bridesmaids) filmed the project in secret, and after briefly scrapping it thanks to a media leak, the film is back on and headed to Lifetime this month.

A Deadly Adoption is inspired by a true story and follows a successful couple (played by Ferrell and Wiig) who house and care for a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) during the final months of her pregnancy with the hopes of adopting her unborn child.

The trailer is complete with a foreboding voiceover, a beaten up Farrell, a pissed-off gun toting Wiig and hints at some possible infidelity.

Although billed as a “high-stakes dramatic thriller”, the film is the first of “a plan to release a quasi-parody of the soapy thrillers Lifetime is so well known for,” according to EW.

A Deadly Adoption premieres Saturday, June 20 at 8pm ET/PT on Lifetime.
