Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt to Join Forces in ‘Passengers’

Hollywood’s sweethearts Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are combining their star power for sci-fi movie Passengers.

Between Lawrence and Pratt, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more likable pair right now, and Sony is ready to capitalize on that by having the duo share

The film follows the tale of a man (Pratt) who awakens from his cryogenic sleep 90 years before the spaceship he’s on reaches its destination. In order to avoid growing old and dying alone, he wakes up a fellow passenger (Lawrence) to live out the rest of his days with.

The two will both enjoy higher pay rates for the film, and thanks to some pay discrepancies that the Sony email leaks brought to light, Lawrence will be pulling in a a cool $8 million more than her Jurassic World counterpart.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner Lawrence is considered a “top star” and “is getting an exceptional $20 million against 30 percent of the profit after the movie breaks even.”

Meanwhile, Pratt’s fee was just bumped up from $10 million to $12 million, thanks to a deal that tied his remuneration to the success of the record-breaking Jurassic World.

Passengers is scheduled to begin filming in September.
