‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer Released Early Due to Comic-Con Leak

The formerly leaked trailer known as Suicide Squad has been officially released thanks to some fan at Comic-Con.

Warner Bros. went ahead and said “To hell with it” and released the highly anticipated trailer thanks to the massive Comic-Con leak. The studio’s President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Sue Kroll, released a statement addressing the leak and release, saying:

“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”

We have to admit, this film looks pretty dark and awesome. We get glimpses of Viola Davis as Amanda Waller assembling the Suicide Squad team, a twisted bunch of supervillains, including a special introduction to Jared Leto’s creepy Joker (we’re still on the fence about it, but leaning moreso toward the ‘Hell Yes!’ side than the ‘Hell No’ side). The group of baddies will have figure out a way to work together for the common goal, and we have a feeling watching them do it will be pretty entertaining (and a little dangerous).

Watch the trailer as many times as you want below:

Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as assassin Deadshot, Jared Leto as Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, among many more.

Catch the film when hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
