‘Arrested Development’ Still Returning to Netflix…Just Taking Forever

Netflix’s upcoming season of Arrested Development may be taking forever, but rest assured, it’s still happening.

At least that’s what Netflix chief content office Ted Sarandos told reporters during the 2015 TCA press tour. “We are plugging along,” Sarandos said. “It’s a very long complex deal to make for these guys both because the talent is very busy and working on other shows, but also because the show is owned by Fox… It is our intent to have a new season of Arrested Development. All the negotiations are underway.”

The show’s producer Brian Grazer also confirmed this information recently when he was interviewed on the “Adam Carolla Show” podcast, saying that the comedy comedy is set to begin season 5 production for Season Jan. 1, 2016 and is planned to return to Netflix that same June.

“Netflix is determined to do more episodes, so we’re going to do more episodes,” he told Carolla.

Grazer previously stated that the show would return with 17 episodes. “I love Arrested Development, but it was never a huge thing,” he said. “But people are loyal to it, and we’re going to do another 17 episodes. So stay tuned for Arrested Development.”

What would you like to see happen in the fifth season of the show?
