The CW Adapting ‘Little Women’ TV Series

The CW is preparing to give American classic Little Women it’s own unique spin.

The network is currently developing a “hyper-stylized, gritty” adaptation based on the classic 1868 tale by Louisa May Alcott. The series is from writer Alexis Jolly, NCIS co-star Michael Weatherly (who plays Tony DiNozzo in the series) and CBS TV Studios.

According to Deadline, the series will follow the four sisters, now half-sisters, as they “band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy that stretches far beyond anything they have ever imagined – all while trying not to kill each other in the process.”

Most of us know the original story but for those who don’t it follows the March sisters as they deal with the trials of tribulations of growing up in post-Civil War America. There’s love, loss and plenty of lessons learned. If you haven’t had a chance to read the book, not only should you not mention that to anyone, but you should go do so immediately…or, you know, watch one of the multiple screen adapatations of it (my personal favorites are the 1949 version with Elizabeth Taylor and Margaret O’Brien and the 1994 version with Kirsten Dunst and Wynona Rider).

We know you have some thoughts bubbling up on the new series, so let them out in the comments below!
