Sylvester McCoy Joins ‘The Hobbit’

Scottish actor Sylvester McCoy, who was the seventh Dr. Who, is said to be playing a major role in ‘The Hobbit’. A “close source” said that McCoy would be playing “the second biggest lead” in the movie, opposite Sir Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis. Reps for McCoy hve not commented. McCoy was reportedly the second choice to play Bilbo Baggins (the main character in ‘The Hobbit’) in ‘The Lord of the Rings’, but the role went to Ian Holm.
