Mare Winningham Checks Into ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

Mare Winningham has been added to the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news, reporting that Winningham will play “the titular establishment’s laundress who works closely with Evan Peters’ character, Mr. March.” Let the theorizing on that relationship begin!

This season will mark Mare’s third AHS appearance.  The actress previously played the abusive mother of Evan Peter’s Kyle in Coven and the abusive sister of Naomi Grossman’s character Pepper in Freak Show. No word on whether or not she’ll be abusive this year, but knowing how Ryan likes to switch his actors personalities up, it’d be surprising if she played a similar role again.

In addition to Winningham,  American Horror Story: Hotel stars fellow AHS vets Angela Bassett as Ramona, Evan Peters as Mr. March, Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, Kathy Bates as Iris, Matt Bomer as Donovan, Lily Rabe, Denis O’Hare, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, and last season’s breakout star Finn Wittrock, along with newbies Lady Gaga, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield, Helena Mattsson, Naomi Campbell, Darren Criss and Richard T. Jones as Detective Hahn (read more about some of the characters here).
