The home from the cult classic film The Goonies has been closed to the public after the home’s owners were fed up with the

The 1985 film is still a favorite of many, young and old, resulting in many fans wanting to visit the Astoria, Oregon house that was home to

Unfortunately, the owner has now reportedly covered up her property in blue tarp, as well as placed a sign in the front of the house telling visitors to exit the premises.

“Imagine that you buy a house, fix it up, spend money, time and love,”says a note left outside of the home. “Then the city of Astoria encourages 100,000’s of people to come and stand in front and view it. This driveway (maintained by homeowners) sees 1000+ people everyday. Most are kind, fun and welcome. But many are not.”

Fans would allegedly leave behind debris such as beer cans, cigarette butts, and some would even leave their pet waste in the yard.

While sad to hear the home is closed to the public, we can’t really blame the homeowners for being tired of the disrespect. This is why we can’t have nice things.

And just because we know you want to see it again (and hopefully cheer you up once you realize you won’t be able to recreate this scene again without the chance of being arrested):
