‘Girl Meets World’ Star Rowan Blanchard Schools Everyone on Intersectional Feminism

Girl Meets World star Rowan Blanchard is using her star power for good, spreading the word about the fight for equality between the sexes and races in a recent social media post.

Blanchard posted an articulate 3-part Instagram essay to her profile, answering a fan question and breaking down the meaning of ‘intersectional feminism’ in a way that makes it easy to understand and hard to debate.

“…with as many issues as feminists have succeeded in adopting, many of us seem to have no accepted the fact that police brutality and race are our issues too. “White feminism” forgets all about intersectional feminism. The way a black woman experiences sexism and inequality is different from the way a white woman experiences sexism and inequality. Likewise with trans-women and Hispanic women,” she writes.

The 13-year-old actress has shown her passion towards fighting for gender equality before, giving an empowering speech on the subject at the UN Women U.S. National Committee 2015 Annual Conference.
