‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Skylar Astin and ‘Veronica Mars’ Star Chris Lowell Join ‘Graves’

Pitch Perfect‘s Skylar Astin and Veronica Mars star Chris Lowell have both signed on to the cast of the upcoming EPIX original series Graves.

The political satire stars Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandonas former President Graves and FLOTUS Margaret Graves. The series takes place 25 years after the end of the pair’s term, with Graves having the epiphany that his policies have damaged the country for decades. Now, with his young assistant Isaiah, former President Graves embarks on a Don Quixote-like journey to right the wrongs of his administration just as his wife, Margaret, decides to follow her own political ambitions.

Astin has landed the role of Isaiah, Graves’ assistant who is described as “neurotic and over-eager”. Isaiah experiences a bit of bad timing when he goes to work for President Graves, his political hero, at the very moment that the ex-POTUS is tearing down his own legacy.

Lowell will portray Jeremy Graves, “an underachiever who returns from the war in Afghanistan to face the real challenge of finding his life’s direction amid the everyday chaos of living with his presidential parents and self-destructive sister,” per a press release.

Angélica María (“Qué Bonito Amor,” Sea of Dreams) was also announced as a new addition to the cast. She will play Ramona Alvarez, the Graves family housekeeper who has a long history with the family and is no longer surprised but their daily dramas.

Look out for the 10-episode series to premiere on EPIX in fall of 2016.
