The Heretics Terrorize Mystic Falls in New ‘Vampire Diaries’ Trailer

Mystic Falls has a huge problem on its hands when the Heretics make their presence known in The Vampire Diaries.

Elena may end up being glad she slept through this one whenever she gets caught up on what she missed during her decades long slumber because the Heretics look like nothing but trouble. The new trailer gives us a look at what the Salvatore brothers and friends will have to deal with when Mama Salvatore brings her adopted children to town, and it looks like they’ll be facing more death and destruction than usual.

The brothers will certainly struggle on many levels with seeing their mom and her kids galavanting around town murdering up a storm. “I think there’s definitely a sense of abandonment and hurt,” Paul Wesley previously said of the Salvatore brothers’ feelings towards Lily. “They’re wary of her, but then they’re also like…it’s that natural, internal- you naturally want to forgive your mom and just assume that she’s a great person and that she really did love you. That’s a natural thing, so I think Stefan’s going to be prone to forgiveness and naiveté as opposed to Damon who’s cynical and suspicious and wary of her.”

By the way, anyone catch that hot Steroline kiss?

The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW on Thursday October 8th.
