Viola Davis, ‘Game of Thrones’ and More Win Big at 2015 Emmy Awards

The 67th Emmy® Awards were a night filled with surprises, record breaking and well-deserved wins last night, as the stars came out to be recognized for their exceptional work in television.

Viola Davis took home an Emmy for her role in How to Get Away with Murder, making her the first black woman in history to win the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and gave a stirring speech on race and equality. “Let me tell you something — the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there,” she told the audience at the ceremony.

Game of Thrones made history as well, taking home a record-breaking 12 awards, while Mad Men fans were thrilled to see Jon Hamm finally win an award for Best Actor.
