Amanda Seyfried Joins ‘Twin Peaks’ Cast

Amanda Seyfried is moving to the town of Twin Peaks in a mysterious new role on the show.

TV Line broke the news, reporting that the actress is set to portray “a pivotal new character.”

This won’t be Seyfried’s first forray into a world of mystery that began with the death of a teen queen…early in her career she played Lilly Kane in Veronica Mars, who suffered a very Laura Palmer-esque fate in the series.

Twin Peaks’ revival has had a bit of a rough start, but production is currently underway. As far as the series premiere date and amount of episodes that the revival will have, plans are still not set in stone, but getting the show on air is a top priority for Showtime Networks president David Nevins . “I want it as badly and as soon as the biggest fans in the world want it, ” he said. “I’m hoping we make 2016. It’s not clear. It’s ultimately going to be in their control. They’re going to shoot the whole thing and then they’ll start posting.. Bottom line is I’ll take it when they’re ready with it… but I’m hoping sooner rather than later.”
