Emma Watson, Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper and More Stars Respond to Jennifer Lawrence’s Gender Inequality Essay

Jennifer Lawrence’s powerful essay on her personal experience with gender pay inequality has gained her some impressive, albeit not surprising, supporters.

Stars have been voicing their support for the issues brought up in her Lenny Letter essay, which has been met with an overall positive response since being published.

In the essay, the actress addressed the huge pay gap between she and her male American Hustle co-stars that was made public during the infamous Sony hacks. “When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with dicks, I didn’t get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself,” she admits. “I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early.”

Now one of her American Hustle co-stars has come out in support of the actresses sentiments. “There’s a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure. This is just one aspect,” Bradley Cooper told Entertainment Tonight while promoting his new film, Burnt. “Anytime there’s a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken — something Sienna did, or Jennifer — that’s great. … I think it is making a difference.”
