NBC’s First ‘The Wiz Live!’ Promo Reminds Us ‘There’s No Place Like Home’

Dorothy and her friends are excited to ease on down the yellow brick road in NBC’s first preview for The Wiz Live!.

The first promo for the upcoming special features the four main friends in their revamped costumes, while spotlighting the rest of the impressive cast as their faces and roles line the side of the famous path to Oz.

“We’re creating a fantasy land that also is inspired by some of the imagery you’d see today,” Tony-nominated costume designer Paul Tazewell told People of the classic characters’ updated looks. “It’s the edgiest of high-fashion from now but in the world of the Emerald City.”
