‘The Vampire Diaries’ EP Julie Plec on Bonnie’s Shocking Flash-Forward

0

Bonnie (Kat Graham) got her flash-forward in last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries and it revealed what’s arguably one of the most shocking of the gang’s futures.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Bonnie three years into the future seems a little worse for the wear, ending up in group therapy in some sort of institution, but what really surprised fans was that when she went back to her room, her boyfriend ENZO (Michael Malarkey)was there waiting for her. Whhaa?!

Thankfully, TVD boss Julie Plec, who has been posting short blogs for Entertainment Weekly after each episode, touched on what sparked the mind-blowing look at Bonnie’s future.

“The idea to put Bonnie and Enzo together in the flash-forwards was born out of their scene last season at the door of the Salvatore House where she calls him a “ruiner”,” Plec wrote. “They had such a fun spark and good energy together, we thought it would be an interesting dynamic to explore.”

Currently the pair can’t stand one another, so it’ll be interesting to see how they get from the place they’re in now, to making out in a mental institution.

With the revelation that Caroline ends up hating Stefan and Bonnie ends up loving (?) Enzo, watching our characters’ futures play out should prove to be an interesting journey.
