‘The Originals’ Stars Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies Tease Tonight’s Thanksgiving Episode

The Originals is preparing to host the Thanksgiving dinner from Hell in tonight’s new episode.

The Mikaelson brothers, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies), want to negotiate a truce between their family’s sire lines in order to thwart the prophecy that threatens all of their lives, meaning that Lucien (guest star Andrew Lees), Tristan (guest star Oliver Auckland) and Aurora (guest star Rebecca Breeds) will all be invited for one of the most awkward, potentially dangerous Thanksgiving dinners since, well, the original Thanksgiving dinner.

During our recent set visit, star Joseph Morgan assured reporters that tonight’s dinner will be filled with plenty of drama, sprinkled with disappointment. “Of course, there’s drama,” he mused. “It’s not just us all holding hands and saying ‘well I’m thankful for the fact that Elijah betrayed me’. There’s a lot of drama and [Elijah and Klaus] go into it with a plan and I’m sure [the sires] do as well and not everybody can get what they want. It’s a pretty interesting episode.”

“You can expect cranberry sauce. You can expect turkey. There will be stuffing. I’m not a gambling man but if I had to bet there will be stuffing on that table,” joked Gillies when asked what he could tease about the episode. “There’s an interesting interrogation between Klaus and Elijah and the Unholy Trinity…We’re trying to deduce the whereabouts of our sister [Rebekah] by stringing them over hot coals. It’s essentially they’re our prisoners during Thanksgiving.”

From what we’ve seen, the “Unholy Trinity” won’t respond well to being anyone’s “prisoners,” so we’re interested to see how the Turkey Day sit-down goes tonight.
