‘Once Upon a Time’ Casts Hercules and Meg

Jonathan-Whitesell-Kacey-Rohl

Once Upon a Time is about to put its own twist on Greek mythology and, yep, that means Hercules and Meg are coming to the series.

Newbie Jonathan Whitesell has landed the role of demi-god Hercules and Kacey Rohl (Hannibal, Red Riding Hood) will bring the feisty Megara to life in the second half of the series’ fifth season.

According to a casting notice acquired by TV Line, Hercules is described as a “dashing, strapping young man” who can be “single-minded in his pursuit of his destiny.” And what’s that destiny, you ask? “To be the greatest hero who ever lived. All that changes however, when he falls in love with a beautiful princess.” Meg is said to be “a plucky young adventurer with a sly sense of humor and a tough, no-nonsense spirit. And though she has spent a long time languishing in a dungeon, her inner spark has not burned out. Rather, it is waiting for the right opportunity to shine brightly again.”

The two will make their debut in episode 13, “Labor of Love”, and the confirmation of the pair’s casting all but confirms that our heroes will be headed to the Underworld this season.

Bailee Madison is confirmed to return to the series in the same episode, which means we’ll also be getting more young Snow (or teen Snow?) flashbacks.
