Is a Peter Jackson-Helmed Episode of ‘Doctor Who’ in the Works?

Famed director Peter Jackson could be taking his talents to the set of Doctor Who soon and that sound you hear is thousands of nerdgasms just thinking about the possibilities.

Jackson, who is best known for directing and producing the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, posted a video to his Facebook page that has LOTR fans, Doctor Who fans and even The Walking Dead fans talking.

In the video, Jackson and his daughter are discussing an email he received from Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffatt, asking him to come direct an episode (and casually polishing his Academy Awards). During the chat The Silmarillion, a book that’s sure to excite Tolkien fans, was spotted on his table. Shortly afterward, a confused and concerned looking Peter Capaldi as the Doctor enters Jackson’s home to hand-deliver a contract to him from Moffatt and the BBC, before being chased out by a Dalek (Capaldi’s Doctor-like examination of the house that happens in the background is pretty hilarious).
