‘The Walking Dead’ Star Andrew Lincoln Teases ‘Insane’ Season 6 Midseason Premiere

SPOILERS AHEAD! Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes was stuck in a less than ideal situation when we left him in The Walking Dead‘s midseason finale, and from the way things sound, when the show returns in 2016, things only get more real.

Rick, along with Jessie and her sons, Carl and Judith, Father Gabriel and Michonne, covered themselves in zombie-guts and headed into a sea of the undead. The plan was actually going pretty well until Jessie’s annoying younger son decided to call out to his mother in the middle of a horde (and you thought seasons 1-3 Carl was bad).

“Rest assured, it’s not looking good for the Alexandrian crew. Yes, there will be blood,” star Lincoln teased to Entertainment Weekly about what to expect when the show returns next year.

Take a look at what else Lincoln told EW about what fans can expect from the “insane”, “epic” season 6 midseason premiere:

If you thought [the midseason finale] was intense… episode 9 — and I’ve been saying it since we shot it — episode 9 is… well, if you thought that was intense, just wait. I think it’s on par with any of those, and it may be the most ambitious, and the most epic and just insane, emotional, action-overload we’ve ever attempted. When we shot it, it was pretty much all night shoots, and everybody went mad in that episode, and I can’t wait to see the results, because it was bananas. We were all covered in blood and screaming, and it was like nothing I’d ever witnessed before. So you thought 8 was intense? Wait for 9.

Have fun waiting!

The Walking Dead returns with season 6, episode 9 on February 14, 2016.
