‘Scream Queens’ Season 1 Finale: Killer Ending or DOA?

SPOILERS AHEAD! The Red Devil was finally unmasked in last night’s season finale of Scream Queens, leaving some fans satisfied with the insane ending, while others took to the internet to write some angry missives of their own.

Hester Ulrich (Lea Michele) was revealed as the mastermind behind the Kappa Kappa Tau murders, Boone’s twin sister and the bathtub baby. After successfully framing all three of the Chanels for the crimes, she continued as an active member of the Kappa house with no consequences to speak of, even after she was called out by Dean Munsch (who was willing to continue on with her successful life as if nothing happened).

Fans have been vocal about their split reactions to the finale over social media since last night. Some feel like the wacky ending fell perfectly in line with the rest of the wild season, while others were disappointed that Murphy’s go-to star Lea Michele was predictably the killer and felt this was simply another case of the infamous Ryan-Murphy-buildup-with-a-massive-letdown-ending scenario (see: American Horror Story: Freak Show, Nip/Tuck, etc).

Below is a look at the good, the bad and the ugly fan reactions:

So what did you think? Were you happy with Hester being the Red Devil and the Chanels getting their warped happily ever after or did the ending leave you with more questions than answers? Do you want a Scream Queens season 2? Talk to us in the comments below!
