Jeffery Dean Morgan Talks Joining ‘The Walking Dead’ and His Character Negan

Jeffrey Dean Morgan The Walking Dead

Jeffrey Dean Morgan appeared on Seth Meyers last night where he revealed that his mom wasn’t too thrilled with his being cast in The Walking Dead. Morgan’s casting as the villain Negan on the AMC series is one of the most highly anticipated (and dreaded) storyline for fans of the graphic novels.

Morgan did admit he was rather excited to play a different character, one that is a 180 for him. “He’s a game-changer,” Morgan said describing Negan. “It’s a complete 180 from what I’m doing on The Good Wife, which for an actor is a dream come true. I get to be the biggest ass in the world.”

However, there was one person that wasn’t too thrilled with Morgan’s new project. His mom.

“When I took The Walking Dead, she was like, ‘What does this mean with The Good Wife?’ She was like devastated that this could be the end,” Morgan told Seth Meyers. “And I’m like, Mom, just keep your pants on.'”

We’re not sure when exactly we’ll see Negan arrive on The Walking Dead. We doubt it will be until the end of the season based on when they casted Morgan (it was near the end of filming for the season), but we aren’t certain. We’ll keep you posted as The Walking Dead returns on February 14!
