HBO Releases Second ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Trailer

Game of Thrones Season 6

HBO has released a second Game of Thrones season 6 trailer! The series returns with 10 new episodes this Sunday night. This season will be a bit of a surprise to book fans as well, as the series will surpass the books in these upcoming episodes.

Author George R.R. Martin has addressed the question that many of us fans have… Since the series will surpass the books, will the HBO series spoil the novels?

“Maybe. Yes and no. Look, I never thought the series could possibly catch up with the books, but it has. The show moved faster than I anticipated and I moved more slowly.” Martin wrote. “There were other factors too, but that was the main one. Given where we are, inevitably, there will be certain plot twists and reveals in season six of Game of Thrones that have not yet happened in the books. For years my readers have been ahead of the viewers. This year, for some things, the reverse will be true. How you want to handle that… hey, that’s up to you.”

Among the returning members of the ensemble cast are Emmy® and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Alfie Allen, Diana Rigg, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, John Bradley, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Conleth Hill, Jonathan Pryce and Gwendoline Christie. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss created the series and serve as executive producers.

Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer

A little over a month ago, HBO had released the first trailer for the upcoming season after a series of earlier teases which didn’t really reveal anything about what is coming.

Our theory is still that Jon Snow is alive… or he’s at least back. Kit Harrington (who plays Snow) had even said in an interview that Game of Thrones is still apart of his life when a reporter asked him about his contract with the series. “I can’t talk about that. Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over. One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on Thrones is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects (laughs).” Harrington said.

Game of Thrones returns this coming Sunday at 9pm EST! Will you be watching? Do you think Jon Snow will be return?
