Harry Potter Advance Screening – A Hit?

Writer Paul Dergarabedian has given Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince a raving review. Previously not a huge fan of Harry Potter, books and films alike, Dergarabedian has been converted!

He says..
…I was blown away like a Quidditch player on a supercharged broomstick. Not only that, halfway through, I’m thinking the unthinkable: “Ten academy awards nominations are available this year … hmm, I wonder ….”

Hey, the Lord of the Rings movies were nominated three years running, and I rank this right up there with those incredible films. Now I know people are going to give me crap about this, but please hold your judgment until you see the film yourself and then come back and point your stubby little Hobbit fingers at me if you don’t agree.

The rest of us will have to wait until July 15 to watch the film but Harry Potter fans can look forward to a smashing movie.

  1. All right. A review from a new convert. I was so hoping that the new film would be able to at least met the other’s standards of fun, laughter, and special effects. Sounds like this is another winner. So how many of us are going to see it on the big screen the first week. I am. Twice at least.
I have really enjoyed this series, watching the kids growing up into and filling out their characters.
Well thought out and well delivered.
It would be thrilling to get a nomination for the Series.
We will have to wait and see.
For me, it is all magical.

  2. I have never read a Harry Potter book, but I have seen all of the movies and I am anxious to see the Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince movie – the previews are amazing.
