Robert Pattinson: I Never Looked At ‘Twilight’ As A Vampire Story

Robert Pattinson is one of the hottest stars right now thanks to ‘Twilight’, a film that made his character one of the most desired vampires of all time. But what is it that attracts people to love vampires so much?

Pattinson admits he doesn’t actually know, but when he came into the ‘Twilight’ project – he didn’t look at it as a vampire story.

“When I try to play it [Edward] I try to eliminate the vampire element as much as I can and just kind of see it as a tool to make their relationship a little more fraught.” explained Pattinson, “Right after the audition I found myself kind of bizarrely invested in the story and I hadn’t even read the books at that point.”

Pattinson also admitted that the more and more he deals with the ‘Twilight’ books, the more he becomes invested. “I’ve kind of gotten more and more attached to it. I’ve been talking about the script for ‘Eclipse’ to people over the last few weeks and I find myself getting very argumentative which I’m not usually.” Pattinson admitted, “They [vampires] definitely have some kind of power.”

Is it vampires that have the power? Or just the ‘Twilight’ books? What do you think?

  1. It’s defiently the books that have that power over you. It’s like you get sucked in one you start the books. I read the first one way before Twilight the movie came and out and I absolutely LOVED it. Then New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn no joke I read those in like 3 days.. They were so hard to put down… I was sucked in and was only paying attention to the book and not what was around me. I talk about the books all the time. I even get ppl who also have read it to quiz me on the whole series. I read the books 10 times so I am pretty good at knowing the answers.. The movies are just going to make it that much powerful. The Twilight movie is already an addiction have to watch at least times a week i had to limit myself… watched it 11 times in the theater… now I wonder how many times for the rest of the series? IT’S BREAKING ME SERIOUSLY… Between books and shirts and ect.. I defiently have a lot of stuff…
