‘Blair Witch’ May Return

During an interview one of the original film’s directors, Eduardo Sanchez, spoke about bringing the film back and the original plans on the project…

“Our original idea for Blair Witch was to go through all of the periods of the mythology … and make a movie about them. And we wanted to start at the beginning and do the story of Elly Kedward, the original [person]… The Blair Witch is named after her.”

Sanchez states that he and co-director Daniel Myrick will pitch the idea to Lionsgate, who owns the rights. While it is not a done deal, they would be doing a follow up story, following the original film’s characters and their disappearance 15-years after the original.

  1. I never sat through Blair Witch. I think it was only so popular because of their misdirection campaign that led people to believe it was a true story and documentary-type footage.

  2. I would love to say that this continuation wont be as wildly successful as the first, but now 15 years later they have a whole new crop of gullible movie goers to trick.
