Willem Dafoe Was Almost Batman & Joker

In a recent interview Willem Dafoe revealed that he was considered for the roles of The Joker AND Batman himself for the 1989 Tim Burton directed ‘Batman’ film.

“Very early, they talked to me about playing Batman,” he said. “I hate to spread these things because unless you remember it well, you’re stoking the fires of bulls*** … But I remember. I’ve had my brush with these things.”

The role of Batman ended up going to Michael Keaton while Jack Nicholson played The Joker.
