Final ‘Twilight’ Movie May Be Two Films

Summit Entertainment is considering breaking the final film of the Twilight series, ‘Breaking Dawn’, into two films. With ‘New Moon’ recording the biggest domestic opening day ever and the film already at $500 million world wide, the feeling is that splitting the finale could be very profitable. Nothing is set in stone as of now, and before they could do the split, they would have to renegotiate with stars Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who only signed on for four films. Signing them up for a fifth could be costly to the studio, as they will be in position to ask for substantial raises. But that is not the only roadblock in the way of a split. Not only would author Stephanie Meyer need to give her approval, but director Chris Weitz would have to agree to shooting two films back to back.

‘Eclipse’, the third film in the series is set to be released in June of 2010.
