Angelina Jolie Wants To Play Maleficent

According to a reports, Angelina Jolie is interested in the title role in ‘Maleficent’, the upcoming Tim Burton/Disney film based on Sleeping Beauty, only from the point of view of the villain.

Linda Woolverton (Alice in Wonderland) is writing the film, and although Burton has not yet signed on he has not committed to a project yet, Jolie has taken an active interest in the project, and sources say her involvement may well hinge on Burton’s. Jolie has nothing lined up after The Tourist.
