‘The Monster Squad’ Remake A Reality

It was reported last year that Rob Cohen (The Fast & the Furious) was working to do a remake of the 1987 cult classic film ‘The Monster Squad’. It is being reported that Platinum Dunes (Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form) is going to produce the project. Platinum Dunes has previously produced ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ remakes. They are currently looking for a writer for the project. The original Monster Squad was written by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) and Fred Dekker (enterprise), and followed a monster-loving group of kids who side with the Frankenstein monster and must do battle with Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy and the Gill-Man.
