According to reports Albert and Allen Hughes (The Book of Eli) are currently in negotiations to direct ‘Akira’. Warner Bros. wants to make the story of ‘Akira’ in two films, with the first covering the first three volumes of Katsuhiro Otomo’s six-volume manga and reportedly coming out next year. Screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Iron Man) wrote the script, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and Andrew Lazar will produce.
