Weekend Box Office Report: January 15th – 17th, 2010

Avatar once again took the top spot at the box office this weekend, earning $41.3 million over the weekend. The Book of Eli debuted #2 at the box office this weekend, earning $31.6 million. The Lovely Bones jumps from a very limited release into the #3 spot this weekend, earning $17 million. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel drops one spot this weekend, earning $11.5 million. Sherlock Holmes dropped three spots down to #5 this weekend, earning $9.8 million.
