Hayley Atwell Joins ‘Captain America’

According to a report, British actress Hayley Atwell (Brideshead Revisited) will play Peggy Carter, the female lead in ‘The First Avenger: Captain America.’ In the comics, Peggy Carter was Cap’s love interest and also an agent working with the French Resistance. She is also the aunt of Sharon Carter, Cap’s modern-day love interest. Chris Evans (Push) will play the title role in the film, with Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl) as his sidekick Bucky Barnes. Hugo Weaving (the wolfman) is in negotiations to play the movie’s villain, Red Skull.
