James Franco to Stars in ‘Rise of the Apes’

It is being reported that James Franco has secured the starring role in ‘Rise of the Apes’, Fox’s upcoming ‘Planet of the Apes’ prequel/reboot. The report says that Franco beat out “a number of Hollywood’s young elite actors for the coveted role.”

The film will be set in modern-day San Francisco after genetic engineering has led to the development of apes that can think, and the start of a war between man and ape. Franco’s lead role will be a “driven scientist” who becomes an important piece in the struggle.
