‘Alice in Wonderland’ Joins Billion Dollar Club
Avatar gets all the credit as the film that sparked the 3D craze, and rightfully so, but ‘Alice in Wonderland 3D’ has now also topped the $1 billion worldwide mark. Only six films have topped $1 billion:
1. Avatar (2009) – $2.72 billion
2. Titanic (1997) – $1.84 billion
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) – $1.11 billion
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) – $1.06 billion
5. The Dark Knight (2008) – $1.001 billion
6. Alice in Wonderland (2010) – $1.00 billion
