Production Starts for ‘Hugo Cabret’

Production has begun in London on Martin Scorsese’s latest film ‘Hugo Cabret’. The film will be shot in 3D and stars Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island), Sacha Baron Cohen (Bruno), Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas), and Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass). Also appearing will be Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), Ray Winstone (The Departed), Christopher Lee (Lord of the Rings), Helen McCrory (The Special Relationship), Frances de la Tour (Alice In Wonderland), and Richard Griffiths (The History Boys).

The movie is based on the bestselling book ‘The Invention of Hugo Cabret’, which tells of an orphan boy who lives in the walls of a train station in Paris. He finds a broken machine and meets an eccentric girl and a cold, reserved toy shop owner and gets caught up in an adventure that threatens to jeopardise all his secrets.

John Logan adapted the screenplay and Scorsese, Graham King, Tim Headington, and Johnny Depp are producing. Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Charles Newirth and Christi Dembrowski are executive producers.
