It is being reported that Shawn Levy (Date Night) has signed on to produce a film adaptation of ‘Alexander and the Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’. The children’s book was written by Judith Viorst in 1972 and has become a favorite of kids worldwide since. The film will be a “high concept” family film. Levy may or may not direct.
The book tells the story of a young boy named Alexander whose day goes from bad to worse. He gets gum in his hair, his teacher gives him a hard time, he has a cavity and so on. The film will revolve around both Alexander and family members collectively enduring the worst day of their lives.
