Will Farrell Making Comedy…in Spanish

Will Farrell will be starring in ‘Casa De Mi Padre’ (House of My Father), an upcoming Spanish-language comedy. Farrell signed on because of a “closed-door settlement” from a pending lawsuit against producer Gary Sanchez. The joke here is that Gary Sanchez is not a real person–at least, not a producer. The real Gary Sanchez works at a car wash, and Farrell made him the face of Gary Sanchez Productions as a joke.

Farrell will produce alongside Adam McKay (The Other Guys) with NALA (North America Latin America) Films financing. No plot details have been revealed yet; the film will be subtitled in English and begins shooting in September in California.

A NALA producer said, “NALA can’t comment regarding the circumstances surrounding why Will is attached to the project. We are just thrilled he is onboard and are moving full steam ahead since we have one month to teach him Spanish.”
