Resident Evil: Afterlife won the box office race for the weekend bringing in $27.7 million. Takers held on to #2 in its third week, bringing in $6.1 million. George Clooney’s The American fell to #3 in its second week, drawing $5.9 million. Robert Rodriguez’s Machete fell to #4 with $4.2 million. Going The Distance stayed even at #5, bringing in $3.8.
