Carla Guigino Joins ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’

Carla Guigino (Watchmen) has joined the cast of ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’. The film is an adaptation of the classic children’s book by Richard & Florence Atwater, and Guigino will star opposite of Jim Carrey. Guigino’s role is unknown at this time, but in the book, there is a female lead, Mrs. Popper, the hero’s wife who helps to deal with the penguins. Here is a brief synopsis of the film:

In the film, Carrey will play Mr. Popper, a house painter whose dreams of Arctic exploration prompt him to write letters to real explorers. When one of them responds with a gift of one dozen penguins, Popper is left with the challenge of dealing with the Arctic birds. Soon he opens a stage act called Popper’s Performing Penguins and goes on tour, creating mayhem at every stop.
