‘The Hobbit’ Staying Put in New Zealand

The Hobbit has dealt with more production problems than Lindsay Lohan has had court appearances: and that’s saying a lot! As word was surfacing that production would pick up and move from it’s current location, New Zealand, fans are happy to hear from the country’s prime minister that the two-part Lord of the Rings prequel will indeed be filmed in New Zealand.

After a long tug-of-war between the movie’s director Peter Jackson and several acting unions that had initially threatened to boycott the production [in light of the fact that the project would employ nonunion actors], it’s a relief to hear confirmation that the disagreement [which could have either put production on hold or shut it down altogether], has been settled in the franchise’s favor.

Shooting is slated to begin in February, and I have to add, with all the problems surrounding the production of this film, I’m starting to think there may be a curse looming around the set!
