Leonardo DiCaprio Finally Gets His ‘Killer’ Role

Leonardo DiCaprio hasn’t been shy about admitting his interest in portraying a serial killer on film, and it seems his wish has finally come true.

The actor has been confirmed to play the lead in the upcoming film adaption of Erik Larson’s non-fiction novel, The Devil In The White City.

DiCaprio will portray Henry Howard Holmes (aka Herman Webster Mudgett), a serial killer known for racking up an extremely high body count in the 1800s. The man was believed to be responsible for as many as 200 murders, though he only confessed to 27.

As some fans may remember, Leonardo DiCaprio was in talks at one point in time to play Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Christian Bale went on to play the role, but DiCaprio spoke openly in a small number of interviews in the past about his yearning to portray a serial killer.

DiCaprio has starred in a wide variety of films, most recently the box office hit Inception. This will be the first time fans get to see him in such a dark role…question is, can he pull it off?
